The long wait for the port of Assassin’s Creed Mirage playable on iPhone 15 Pro models and top-tier iPads ends in early June.

This is the latest example of AAA, console-quality games being brought to Apple devices to demonstrate their gaming capabilities.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage gets ported to iPhone

When Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max in autumn 2023, it talked up the cutting-edge capabilities of the A17 processor. To show off the potential, the company announced that Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding and Assassin’s Creed Mirage would all be introduced for the latest top-tier iPhone. The first three are already available, and the final game is right around the corner.

The title will launch on the iPhone/iPad App Store on June 6, according to The Verge. Ubisoft’s actual game listing says June 10, but the debut is certainly only a few weeks away.

Full AAA game, not a scaled-back mobile one

Ubisoft says of its creation:

“In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you are Basim, a cunning street thief with nightmarish visions, seeking answers and justice. After an act of deadly retribution, Basim flees Baghdad and joins an ancient organization — The Hidden Ones. As he learns their mysterious rituals and powerful tenets, he will hone his unique abilities, discover his true nature, and come to understand a new Creed – one that will change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.”

It’s an action-adventure stealth game with a focus on story telling. The iPhone/iPad version is a port, not an alternative version that’s been scaled down for mobile.

It was introduced in 2023 for consoles and Windows, and reviews are generally good, though not universally so.

For iPhone and iPad

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is already listed on the App Store. It shows that the game is free but with a range of expansion packs with prices ranged $4.99 to $14.99. However, The Verge reports once the game is actually available, it’ll only be free to play for 90 minutes. After that, the purchase price is $49.99.

The title requires an Apple A17 processor, which means the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max. Other iPhone 15 models use the A16. It’s also playable on any iPad with an M1 or newer processor. That’s every iPad Pro and iPad Air going back several years.

An external game controller is recommended. Fortunately, both iPhone and iPad support a wide range of wireless controllers.
